Reverse band bench press is one the most effective max effort exercises because it can yield quick results. The target muscle group is the chest, triceps and shoulder.

This exercise imitates the bench press shirt, allow you to use heavier weight, strengthen your lockout and add variation to your workout. By placing the bar in bands (that are attached to the top of the rack) the bar weight is lessened at the bottom of the movement and as the weight is raised, the bands help less and the weight gets heavier.

I suggest only doing this exercise no more than twice a month because it could lead to overtraining and an injury to your elbow/tricep region. The reason is because you will be working out with weight that is 100-200lb more than your unequipped max.

Also, 6-8 sets is more than enough!

Reverse band bench press can be used for decline and incline bench press too. Here are some videos of me doing Reverse Band Bench press.  Enjoy!!
